Sour Cream Pound Cake

 I can never have enough pound cake recipes and am always on the lookout for a new one.  Here's a delicious one that pretty simple and basic.  Enjoy!


3 cups sugar

1 cup butter - room temperature

1 Tablespoon vanilla

1 tsp kosher salt

1/2 tsp baking soda

6 eggs - room temperature

3 cups flour

1 cups sour cream


Preheat over to 325 degrees F.  Spray Bundt pan with baking spray with flour.

In bowl of large stand mixer beat together sugar and butter until light and creamy.  At least 5 minutes.

Add 1 Tablespoon vanilla.

Add eggs one at a time beating well to incorporate after each addition.

In separate large mixing bowl add 3 cups flour, salt and baking soda.

Add flour and sour cream to bowl in stand mixter alternately.  Starting and ending with flour.

Mix on low until incorporated.

Bake for 80 minutes or until golden and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.  

Let stand in pan for 10  minutes.  Then remove and let cool on cooling rack.
